Robert Bronstein

Chairman

Robert Bronstein co-founded The Scion Group and has led its growth over 20 years from a two-person consulting practice to North America’s leading private owner, operator and advisor of student housing.  Founded in 1999, Scion focuses exclusively on ownership, operation and advisory services for student housing, both on and off campus. The company has participated in the completed acquisition or development of over 70,000 beds and advised colleges and universities, foundations and private-sector providers in more than 200 campus markets, representing over $5.0 billion of project value and supported by a staff of over 1,500.

Scion is currently the largest privately-held US owner/operator of student housing communities.  Scion’s owned portfolio includes 90 communities, serving 56 major university campus markets across 27 states. Among the most active participants in the sector, Scion has acquired or recapitalized over $4.5 billion of purpose-built student housing since 2013.

Robert earned a B.A. in Economics from the University of Michigan. He has served on the board of Kids Kicking Cancer since 2008 and was instrumental in the creation of a Chicago-area chapter. He lives in Chicago, IL with his wife Rosellene and three children Mia, Nate and Sydney.
