In our Heroes Circle Pediatric Patient Program, we use martial arts techniques to help children, teens and young adults cope with difficult situations associated with chronic health conditions such as cancer, sickle cell, hemophilia, heart disease, chronic GI disease, organ transplant and other pediatric illnesses.
This non-contact, martial arts approach engages children, teens and young adults (ages 3-26+), and encourages them to use the power of our unique meditative techniques to focus their inner strength and overcome pain. We also encourage siblings to participate in our classes, as well as our virtual and in-person events.
In several studies, our methodology has been proven to reduce pain and distress among children with chronic health conditions, as well as their otherwise healthy siblings.
Our Heroes Circle Pediatric Patient Program is life changing. When kids transform from victim to victor, they are unlocking their inner POWER. PEACE is the experience they feel when they blow out the darkness of pain, fear or anger. And, when they teach these techniques to others (siblings, parents, and even adults) it reinforces great PURPOSE in their young lives. POWER. PEACE. PURPOSE. is the mantra used by all of our Heroes Circle programs and is truly indicative of the transformation in a student from feeling helpless to conquering their pain, stress or anxiety.
There are countless stories of how martial arts techniques like power breathing, the ninja needle and body scans have been used continually throughout the medical experiences of our Heroes Circle community. The kids have even demonstrated the flexibility to translate the use of power breathing to other life situations to control stress.
