In our Heroes Circle School Program, we provide students with the tools to help them self-regulate as they encounter a range of stressors at home and in the classroom. At the same time, they increase personal empathy as they are encouraged to use their techniques to teach their family, friends and community.
The program has an extensive curriculum that was built to address the effects of stressful situations, thereby improving a child’s ability to self-regulate and learn. Using a “surround sound” approach, this program is integrated into the classroom and extended to teachers, psychosocial staff, and other high-touchpoint staff.
The 26-week elementary school curricula is aligned to state education standards, modified by grade level and delivered to students daily via 15-minute teacher-led lessons.
In a pilot with Oak Park School District (Oak Park, Michigan), program research showed improved academic performance, reduced stress, and decreased incidence of emotional and behavioral problems among participating elementary school students.
Our Heroes Circle School Program is life changing. When kids transform from victim to victor, they are unlocking their inner POWER. PEACE is the experience they feel when they blow out the darkness of pain, fear or anger. And, when they teach these techniques to others it reinforces great PURPOSE in their young lives. POWER. PEACE. PURPOSE. is the mantra used by all of our Heroes Circle programs and is truly indicative of the transformation in a student from feeling helpless to conquering their stress or anxiety.
We offer more than just a series of classroom exercises. The Heroes Circle School Program creates neurological resilience within children, teachers, school social workers and administrators. Most importantly, students demonstrate the flexibility to translate the use of power breathing to other difficult situations.
